NEW ALLIANCE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION is your credit union. The more you use your credit union - the more you benefit. Our credit union is a member-owned, democratically controlled consumer financial cooperative. Every member is an owner, a saver, and a potential borrower. Your credit union is not bottom line oriented. Credit Unions are non-profit organizations - founded under the concept of people helping people. The members loan money to their credit union in the form of savings accounts. The money is then loaned back to the member. The profits earned, from the loans to the members, are used to pay dividends (interest) back to the members. Today, more than sixty million people in the United States are members and owners of their own financial institution - their credit union. All earnings above necessary capital transfers are returned to the members.
