New Alliance FCU Named Community Partner of the Year

The credit union was recognized for investment, support, and community involvement.

Pittsburgh, Pa. – October 30, 2023 – New Alliance Federal Credit Union has been recognized as the 2023 Community Partner of the Year by Lawrenceville United, an organization that works to improve and protect the quality of life for all Lawrenceville residents. New Alliance FCU was awarded for its unwavering dedication and support to the Lawrenceville community through exceptional investment, support, and involvement in community events since its establishment in the neighborhood in February of 2023.

Despite being relatively new to the area, New Alliance FCU has demonstrated commendable commitment as a good neighbor and partner to Lawrenceville residents and businesses. Their location at 3709 Butler St in the 6th Ward has served as a venue for a wide range of community events, including a successful backpack and school supply drive in August and the Lawrenceville Happenings organized by Lawrenceville United and Lawrenceville Corporation.

“We are deeply honored to receive the Community Partner of the Year award from Lawrenceville United. At New Alliance Federal Credit Union, our commitment to the community is at the core of everything we do,” said Jeff Tumsis, Business Development and Community Relations for New Alliance Federal Credit Union. “When we became a part of the Lawrenceville neighborhood, we knew we wanted to be more than just a financial institution. We wanted to be a true partner, actively making our community a better place.”

In addition to hosting events, New Alliance FCU has showcased its dedication to the residents by installing an ATM in St. Augustine Plaza, a senior living community. This initiative has not only provided convenient financial services to the elderly residents but has also demonstrated the credit union's eagerness to go the extra mile to support the community.

“This recognition reaffirms our belief that strong partnerships and genuine community involvement can create positive change. We are proud to have been able to support local events, provide essential services to our neighbors, and contribute to the overall well-being of the Lawrenceville community,” said Kelly Freidl, CEO of New Alliance Federal Credit Union. “This award is not just a testament to our dedication but also a motivation to continue our mission of serving and uplifting the communities we call home. We look forward to many more years of collaboration and making a meaningful impact in Lawrenceville.”

A testimonial from one nominator highlights the credit union's outstanding contributions, stating, "This is the organization that has invested in all of the events that I went to that were about my children. Any organization that puts in the work to show up and invest in my children or enable me to accomplish my goals is a winner to me. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. What more could you ask for, right?"
